They have been fundamental to human survival for the entirity of human history. Without breasts and their life giving milk , we would not exist. Quite simply they are a key part of our lives.
there is also the aesthetic side of breasts to consider, they are attractive to the eye, regardless of shape or size, they have the ability to draw attention and fill clothes.
What worries me about breast and the future, is that now a whole generation of men are growing up without knowing what real breasts look like. that is so wrong! young women, still in their teens are rushing out and altering their breasts before they have even stopped growing. now men ( i am generalising) are creatures of habit, they return always to thethings they know. so they will learn and recognise falsies from touch and think that , that hard gala melon feel is how breasts are and should be.
breast do not feel like that, they are lovely, regardless of size, even the teeny ones, as long as you have a little bit of cushion up under the nipple so a guy knows he isn’t up there with some guy named earl, he will enjoy it. Ladies we have to stop being so self conscious, it is not good, how is a man supposed to really desire you if he feels you can change to fit what he wants.
Yes i understand, that yes seeing your man ( or lady if you are that way inclined) ogle some big titty pearl can leave you feeling inadequate, but you stop those thoughts right now! if (s)he wants her they can leave your side and go right now, but i imagine that , it does not happen very often.
What i especially do not like hearing from young women my age is… ” i will never breastfeed. i do not want saggy tits.” It really grinds my fucking gears!!! feeding babies is what they are for. Studies earlier this year showed that breast feeding had little to do with sagging, sagging was the result of increased weight, genetic pre-disposition, and poor support. so you are telling me that you would rather, put your child’s health at a disadvantage and all for vanity. that is real pathetic, and went i hear it from pregnant women, i do not spare their feelings i tell them like it is…” that is real pathetic!” if you are worried get a breast lift, do you know how expensive formula milk works out to be.
the problem is that i feel us women do not love our breasts enough, cherish them, i lost an aunt to breast cancer, and we have to love them for what they are. Check them, make sure that if you are altering them, you do so for the right reasons.

it is perfectly reasonable to say so, i believe that it is the truth. yes money drives lots of things but sex helps it sell.
sex is so deeply rooted inside of us all that when any matter truely sexual comes to the surface we all appear so shocked. for centuries people have pondered it, what constituted normal sexual mores, what we percieve as deviant was once acceptable and what seems normal now was seen as deviant.
it is that whole issue of what constitutes deviancy, that has caused people to be supressed socially, mentally and physically.
even assexuality is a form of sexaulity, it exists only in opposition of what sexuality and sensuality is. simple desires that we probably would not ascribe to sexuality are in fact very sexual. some women are so shy of admitting to their own sexaulity they claim that their desire is infact just “liking” i know a woman who adores chris brown (r’n'b singer) she just likes him, of course she always makes sure that everyone knows “oh, nooo! NOT IN THAT WAY” she likes him and presumes he is perfect in every way, however she hates r’n'b and cannot stand anything remotely pop , she finds indie much more intellectual. what i cannot fathom is why is he so perfect if it isn’t a physical attraction, she does not follow his music ( she finds it insipid). she looks at his perfect form and watches him dance with the mute on but cannot admit to herself or others that it is a desire she feels.
lots of women are brought up feeling that desire or sexual longing is the preserve of men. they are also often filled with garbage that women are perfect dolls to be admired, never touched but by one hand and that is a hand of her man, and never her own.
How ridiculous, nonsense as if sexuality was only the preserve of the male side of humanity humanity would soon be snuffed out. nightly the beds of hetrosexual britain are bounced of the command and at the will of the women-folk. and i’d also like to point out for the sake of equality that the beds of homosexual britain are probably bounced hourly on the command of women ( in the lesbian camp) and men ( for the gay camp, and not so camp)
why is sex such a huge issue, well because , most people think it is special and be reserved for marital partners only. i believe sex is special and i only have it with men that i love ( or that have been so incredible to me) so that is only 3 so far. when i make love, it is a gift i have opened my heart ( and my legs to you) i feel a special bond with you, now the abstinence posse will probably say ” well gee…” (american speech) ” why did you not choose to remain a virgin till your wedding night?” well let me answer, sure it is a lovely idea, when i was ten it seemed feasable. but as i got older i realised something, my aunt a beautiful vivacious woman was not married, she was a barrel of laughs and never had a partner ( she is straight before you ask.) now if i waited there was the small change that i would never experiance the joy of sex.
reason two, when all the other women in the world are giving away their love like free wine who is waiting to pay for yours, really now? i live in a sedate country but english women ( regardless of race or religion) like sex and happily dispense it at leisure, sex is a competitive market and more stable than the stock markets, so if you are not on the that market and everyone else is, you will never make a profit. As a young virgin at 19 i looked at the world around me, everyone else was a seasoned old pro, boys never looked my way because other young women held the paradise of sexual satisfaction only a cats- tease away. i was a virgin but not by choice, the longer i left it the harder it would be.
reason three , when a woman looses her virginity it is horrendously bloody, i being a modest sort would hate for a man that i loved to see me that way. (seriously when i have my period i stay at home and avoid everyone socially, i get a fat tummy, i get dry skin, my skin goes a horrible shade that just screams ” suffering heavy blood loss!” my boyfriends have never even held my hand at that time of month. i dislike the thought of blood interupting a night of marital bliss.
reason 4 this is not disney -world of fairy tales, you test drive your man, had i waited and discovered my man, rough beyond reason, or a sexual devient who could only be aroused by vomiting ,defecation or even worse menstruation.
reason five marriage is not based on sex alone, marriage is all about love , companionship, friendship, shared interests and mutual understanding, not i want to have sex. sure sexual attraction should pay a part but of marriage it should not be the be all and end all.

What pissed me off!
well, it’s about this years exciting american election. Now i am being absolutely honest, i do not know about the policies (in great detail that is) of any of the candidates, left or right wing. I have not studied them like i had studied the politician that i voted for in the last election here in England. What i have noticed is the coverage.
America is an important country and will be for the forthcoming century or so.( sorry osama bin-liner not even you could derail that, a sub-prime mortgage crisis could though). so with that in mind, i have decided to take an active interest in it’s policies and foreign policy.
However, what really spoilt my view of america and it’s attitudes to women especially women of ethnic minorities was how they were portrayed. Oprah winfery is a multi- millionaire, a self made woman in all respect, yet when she decides that she wanted to endorse Barrack Obama, she was accused of voting on the basis of skin colour.
Well, lets see, Oprah winfrey, a mature woman, who has made her money through careful thought and clever management. she has not only a sucessful television programme, radio station and magazine, (not to mention a private school in south africa.) then the detractors claim that she hasn’t made the decision on the basis of careful thought or consideration, but just thought she liked his skin tone, or his hair and his frame.
When people think this they insinuate that women of colour are simple and bovine and vote as a mass. Nobody said to famous republican female pundit Ann coulter ” say, you are a woman why are you not voting for hillary?” women of colour are often given the choice between different white male politicians, this time they (like the rest of the world regardless of colour) have the choice of a black male, a white female and a white male. As i black woman, i must reiterate that we have the power of independent thought and vote accordingly. we can and do make intelligent decisions, please do not discrimate .
it’s a nasty assumption and i do not take kindly, to my sisters being insulted. We are all varied, we are tall short, medium, intelligent, average,slow,introverted, extroverted,passive, wise, humble and proud. Please never assume that we make important decisions on the basis of flimsy similarities ( we assume that no one else makes important decisions on the basis of flimsy similarities) we take our lives seriously and never underestimate us however lowly we appear to you. Especially not the Great winfrey.
if winfrey wants Mr Obama, Obama she shall have. if she wanted mc cain she could support him, if she wanted Clinton she could support her too! what people tried to do was infleunce her vote (isn’t that illegal?) which is wrong in so many ways. Why black families are key?
Ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters. my afro decendents, i must talk to you, about our communities. right now they are being torn apart by murderous fiends. in the uk, in the us, in the caribbean and doubtless in latin america too.
We can sit around scratching our heads, but thers is not one moment to be lost. Let me give you the situation here in old blightly. i live in a nice enough large-ish town, 25-40 miles away from london. it’s middle income largely but we have lots of lower income people too ( that is nothing to be ashamed of we are working people we just don’t have much money).
in the late 1980’s my west indian community was very tight, upon seeing an elderly black person, even without knowing them or recognising them, you offered your welcome, your welcome depended on your distance, from across the road , you nodded and smiled. yards away you would say hello. if the person was close they may stop you and ask if they knew your family, if they did they would pass on a greeting to your grandparents/ parents and you would have to give that message to them. if you did not your parents would know.( the black grapevine is faster than broadband, or any athlete pumped up on steriods.
You kept your manners a round the opposite sex, because 1. it was quite possible that his/her father knew where you lived and had a cricket bat at home.
2. this was the 1980’s /1990’s and if your grandmother got wind of this she would go out, buy a hat and marry you off before you could say, it was only a dance!
there were community groups, saturday schools , opperated and run by local black men and women, helping young black children achieve academic excellence ( or just helping them understand algebra). community cativities, trips to beaches ( i went to the beautiful welsh countryside.) and picnics etcetera. it was good and it was sustainable for a lond good while. but i imagine it existed everywhere until the mid to late 1990’s.
suddenly in the early nineties the west indian community was challenged by conservative Mp. Norman Tebbit, who claimed that we could never be english because if at a cricket match, the west indies played england we would all support the west indies. It struck a chord, we would not, at the time the west indies cricket team was so good, we were on fire. the england team was a fat butch of patsies. so the community took a hard look at itself, we had started arriving from the caribbean in the 1940’s , it was at that point 40 to 50 years raising families here so there was only one thing on lots of families minds.
we caught that “integration at all costs” bug. there suddenly was no community to keep people in check. we did not see elders on the street, thus we did not have to be behave apropriately. the elders did not report people to their parents because now the parents were not interested in their community, now they were just as “english” as their white neighbours.
the wheels have come off now people. when you break down a community you create a power vacuum, that boisterous testoterone filled lawless men and teenage boys have all too readily filled. whose fault is it?
IT’S OUR FAULT! We gave up our community too easily. we so wanted to fit in with our neighbours and now we have made our children their scapegoats! We stopped disciplining our children in a way we saw fit, we followed the anglo- saxon way and instead of shouting ,placing the fear of god into them or giving one well placed slap , we sent them to the naughty step. we did not send them to their rooms for hours on end to think about what they did, we wanted to fit in, so we let them out instead. but we forgot, that it’s different for white people’s children, when they get caught doing something, they get picked up by the police and might get a caution (after all billy here is an ordinary kid, just look at him, he just got caught up in the wrong crowd.) when your black kid gets picked up, it will be something quite different(look at joe, so you thought you come out and stir up some trouble, huh?) you child on the basis of skin colour and phenotype is the “wrong crowd” and will be treated accordingly.
All of us have to start re-building our communities, we need the role models that my peers and i had in the 1980’s and earlier. If you got lucky on friday and now you are becoming a parents , for crying out loud, BE PARENTS! we have got to stop ignoring our elders and start ignoring the people who think that they raise your children, I am talikng about supernanny, and her ilk. You did not lay down with norman tebbit, supernanny, mumsnet.com or any other faceless moron, you a man and you a woman did it.
Children need parents, their mother and their father, they need that i know it’s not politically correct but it’s true. they also need their culture and heritage, make them understand their place in this world, they must understand action and consequence ( if that means child gives you too much lip, then they get a smacked bottom, so be it) because it is how we all learn.
We west indians have a saying “if you can’t hear , you go feel !”
so yes when discipling your child yes tell them , no and then warn them, then if they refuse to heed your warning, a well placed smack on the buttocks does the trick.

Why little englander’s are scared!
Well here is another observation piece, if you choose to believe me or not that is your choice. just a little history of the great tradition of english nimbyism (Not In My Back Yard mentality ). little englanders are worried their colonial chickens have come home to roost. What i say is harsh but i say it as affectionate republican black woman( just a note republic as in NO ROYALTY , not as in i love DUBYA, i hate dubya.) i love england but Little Englanders grind my gears.
England should have remained a rain soaked catholic country on the periphary of the great catholic powers of the italian states, france, spain and france. as it happened england had already taken an imperial attitude to it’s neighbours wales, scotland and the ancient ireland that was yet to divided . the welsh royal family is so long lost that most britons do not know of their existance. ( they assume that the title of prince of wales is something as simple of being granted a peerage.) cut the story short the entire welsh royal family was so descimated that not a single heir is found in the other royal houses of europe . if that is what they did to the royals please imagine what they did to the average welshman or welshwoman. the welsh fought long and hard and unfortunately they sucumbed to english imperialism .
Scotland and England have been at constant loggerheads for centuries until the birth of the united kingdom. (please remember the union only came about because Elizabeth the first died heirless and had to name her scottish nephew as her sucuessor.) Even still the English thirst for conquest did not stop, they cleared from the highlands of the indigenous folk and well unfortunately for them they had the choice to either rent back their own land at exorbitant rents , join the budding navy, join the army or become a settler in the new world.
Now here comes the horror that is the venture past the pale in ireland. The english ( sorry my heart is with england it where i was born and bred here but SHIT WE REALLY FUCKED UP!!) the potato famine could have been avoided, when the land was consficated from the irish the english were producing suplus goods, beef, milk, wheat but choose to make money and export the surplus and let the irish starve.

Homophobia – the west indian truth!! (AS I SEE IT)
here goes it, the truth about homosexuality and my community as i view it. this is not and cannot be percieved as absolute truth because it is completely opinion and observation based.
Peter tachell thinks my whole community habours an inate hatred of homosexuals, he campaigns against music stars from my (ancestral) part of the globe. he pickets and makes a large fuss. he never does so against eminem (he is a white american petitioning him would never do) even when he too has made inflamitory remarks of his own.
But i digress, what is the truth as i see it. well here goes. i have lived here in england and soujourned in the caribbean for many a month and well lets talk about modern history. the british society in the 1960’s was a secular one largely, it had a political and social epiphany. they made contraception available to unmarried women ( unleashed the swinging of the sixties presumably), politically we had enoch powell and the turning of public opinion against the K(eep) B(ritain)W(hite) posse that were his supporters and the society became open and accepting of difference and different lifestyles.
Contrast that with the caribbean then( or even now) we have a very conservative and VERY religious community, ( today when ski lanka and west indies play in trinidad on sunday the stalls were mostly empty) we have the reminants of a very stiff and conservative calvernist christianity brought to the islands after emancipation to give religious stewardship to the ex-enslaved. go to most churches you will still find the christianity of not modern cuddly anglican world of Rowan williams. but of Fire, brimstone and the wrath of god.
all this is so rudimentary, we should be talking about the simple passage of time. Last year in my hometown here in england one man was followed home from the local gay pub and battered so badly it was feared he would be brain damaged, we all were disgusted (even the west indian community). here in england it has been about 40 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality. in most caribbean countries the decriminalisation of homosexuality has only been about 10-15 years. so work it out the attitudes you will find are similar to those you would have found in the 1970’s-1980’s, if you remember it was probably not a friendly place for homosexuals of any variety.
I know of one homosexual church minister in the caribbean, he is acknowledge publically as a “bulla-man” and has been a church minister since the 1990’s and has never been asked to resign nor has he ever been beaten up, burned or any other foolish nonsense. he is discreet with his affairs and had a steady partner most of the time. all of this counts for nothing. a church man should always conduct himself discreetly and keep a partner ( it is a basic human requirement , so there mr lonely pope).
What i feel harms the image ( therefore acceptance) of homosexuals in the west indies, is the portrayal of homosexuals in the media. i am talking about the cariture of male homosexuality that is surely offensive to male homosexuals, the jumping up and down camp as christmas gay man, if gay men were really like this then iran could really claim to have no homosexuals because they would be recognised and stoned.
To be honest we all ( even we here in the west) could do with acknowledging that homosexuality is something that lives outside stupid stereotype. to be brutal , my community is not cuddly, it is a place that sodomy is still illegal. ( even an enlightened girl like me won’t do it).
the truth is the west indian world, is a tiny drop in the ocean start with the world at large, i know that it is simple to blame us , the rambuncious black people, conservative to the last ( despite people believing the opposite ).
what about conservative christians in the bible belt of america who believe that homosexuality is wrong? what about people who believe that the holy koran instructs them that homosexuality is wrong?
it is easy to take apart a small fragmented community and claim you have struck a blow against homophobia, but start with the titans and the world will follow.
Lets all tackle the hatred together with honesty, it something that still exists here. lets all be balanced.
