If you examine African history you will find that Africans have committed more than their full share of crimes and follies. Even a cursory examination of chiefs like Shaka and Mtese will convince any but the most the most obtuse that their history also is a history of crimes and follies. Anyhoo, my main gripe was people being dismssive of black people in this period. Wehave had apologies from the british to the irish for their dispicable behaviour from their conquest past the pale to their behaviour in the potatoe famine, we have seen that the americans apoligise for the internment of japanese american folk, the german people apologise for the holocaust. The money from the slave trade started my bank and barclays bank and the now defunct barings banks , it's a horrible thought. the money invested started the national gallery and so mant of the beautiful stately homes and the money garnered from the trade has been passed though generation to generation and my family has been passed nothing. You know what next week i am going going to post on this.
