Biracial people and racial classification

December 29, 2007 at 11:28 pm (black people, multicultralism, the caribbean) (, , )

so, i was on ruminations of a racial realist and lots of people were talking about this one!

quite a juicy topic,  now  the basic gist was  should biracial people  classify themselves as black? the answer from  many of the black people was……HELL NO! lots of people are tearing up the one drop rule that has predominated the black diaspora  ( in the english speaking regions)  for centuries.

the arguement so goes that it is no longer 1807 it’s not even 1907 here we are,  lets redefine our community. now for any of the un-informed the one drop rule states that any person regardless of how white ( or non black their appearance) is black even if they had  even one drop of black blood.  used during slavery so that  when the slave masters took sexual gratification from their female slaves … no matter how the child or mother looked in appearance they would be black thus therefore slaves of monatory value  property.  in summary  in 1838 in the british west indies, there were 9  catagories of blackness.  so since the begining of the slave trade approx 1482 (building of Elmina slave dungeon) people with  at least one white parent were black.

What the rule also did was absolve the white slave owners of  parental responsibilty. however, there are no (legal) slaveowners in this day and age. so can we all put this foolishness behind us!

Is black culture and people so cheap and pityful that we accept   people that others will not, truth is Biracial people are as Black as they are white/asian/antipodian (delete as nessecary). i say this not to exclude but to point out something, you rarely see biracial people pointed out as white(just an example) or see white people claim them as their own.

If we have devision in humanity for crying out loud do it properly.

Biracial people have two parents and as long as two parents take the time to raise them and support them they must acknowledge them both.  Imagine taking the time to have a child and have the world ignore the fact that you went into making them.

just a thought folks. many biracial peeps in my family and i would turn toes up if they turned around and said they were black.

this is not  about hatred it is about, calling a Square a Square and a circle a circle.

what do you think?

so i was reading a blog by some lady who calls herself freeslave.

December 6, 2007 at 11:43 pm (black people, sexuality) (, , , )

Freeslave , comments that pornography is demeaning to women. Fair  enough there is a lot of anti woman porn, it’s a bloody disgrace, buyers and sellers horrible phrase but truthful in this case. Freeslave goes on to say that most porn is racist. well what  do i lifeisannoying think?

I think that largely it is,  Black meat and white heat, white pu$$i’s  get savaged by black c*ck, Tight and white Vs black’n'ready.

Who comes up with these soundbites, i do not like them, they are instantly racist, black man reduced to meat, black men savaging white womenHHHMMMMNNN!

stereotypical? just a little.  I actually have no objection to pornography, the soundbites  are what cuts deep.I know that the industry isn’t known for it’s sutble nature or it’s thoughtfulness, but these captions are straight out of  a white supremacists deluded fantasy about interracial sex.

Yet when you see the captions on pornography with black women, more often than not, it also decscends into stereotyping so  brutal  that it budgeons all notions of black female delicacy.

Fu<£i t like  i’m hot, Bus  your beef up in my tuna town, and other phrases that are so rooted in outdated ebonics that it  is imposible to comprehend.

Now my issue with the first item is… it obviously serves to point out that Black women are referenced sexually only in rap , i hope snoop dog and pharrell take the production company to court for using  a title so similar to their song. Snoop dog’s nose might not be so clean when it comes to pornography, but largely i will let him slide because i think that( i have not watched it) it was intended as a farce . Now as for the tuna town incident….. Bloody hell where is the market for that huh? Who is watching something that advertises  hey i have bad B.V my crotch stanks!

now there is the point, black people are making these films, i know they go in  (another hard days work) do their thing and get their paychecks and go home to their families. They are not the ones doing the marketing or writing the scripts or advertisng(well with those awful titles and captions i should hope not). this world and it’s economic pressure is tough if one minor or unknown star pulls out due to  artistic beliefs, another is waiting in the wings to take their place all misty eyed lubed up and ready. but when a huge star pulls out, contractual wrangling might have some weight and maybe artistic things can be changed.

However economics can win out, if you consider pornography bad evil and morally wrong, do not purchase it.

I have no desire to work in pornography (west indian families do not take kindly to what they consider sluttishness) ,  yes there have been horror stories  linda lovelace and the like. But what we must remeber that there are  many people who  are exhibitionists,  if you feel it is wrong do not support it, no downloads, no magazines, no jpegs, zilch. There is an issue more important than what paid adults do (for kicks , money,  or gratification).

What i want to end on saying is,  many young children are being trafficked from africa and the far east, to cater for european perverts, if you suspect that a child  has been traffickes please alert authorities the  nsppc, the non emergency police station, social services, childline and barnado’s. these children are victims choiceless, friendless and abused. If you see a child that never seems to go to school,  never  intergrates with local kids   and  flinches if anyone touches them (accidently or on purpose) do not confront them or the adult with them( you could make it worse) please raise your concerns in the aforementioned  way. These children are definatly  being degraded, there are lots of them, their lives will never be the same , we must try and save them, they are far more important than  actors in pornography, adults can say no, adults can run, adults can more freely escape and phone police. these children cannot

I’m bring sexy black!

December 6, 2007 at 12:01 am (black people) (, , )

hey, just a  small idea. Why  oh why  is there one rule for white womanhood and another for black womanhood. I just got to thinking of it a while ago. When madonna did her sex book she was all out, it was cool, artsy and  well respected. Okay, that is fine. So why when janet jackson boob accidentally pops out (she looked shocked) does evryone  fly into a rage. It wasn’t in a church, she wasn’t singing abide with me ,America   why?

Want another example, when kate moss gets into the white stripes video and  and dances around a stripper pole in  a scanty pair  of undies is it sexy and when they see a black women doing practically the same thing in  a rap video it’s degrading?

Vanessa anne hudgens takes some wild neked pics  and they accidently end up  on the web, lots of grown men race to hit it up. ( seriously  this girl is  Jailbait) when a fully grown black woman’s nudie pic  end up on  american idol she is dismissed, yet when the same scandal happens to a white contestant   not to many years later, she  gets no chop.

It got me wondering, is Black female sexuality threatening to society at large? We can still be portrayed in films and the media as mammies, angerstorms and clowns minstrels of all varities for a cheap laugh but face up with a sexy black woman some people do not like it.

Sexy black women suffer… being labelled as golddiggers, hoochies, ho’s and all variety of coarse slang that slanders expressions of our sexuality as general whorishness.

Not all women are represented in modern media, whne growing up watching the shabba ranks video’s i was often struck by the female dancers their beauty and their obvious skill at undulating their bodies and rolling, the way in which they whined. They all  were representative of all of black womanhood, from pale sepia to ebony black and all of them sexy (it is something you won’t see in modern music videos). The general public didn’t like it thought that  these women are degrading themselves, it’s sexist for them to dance like that.

Is it? These women have economic pressure and they aren’t hurting anyone. It is how we dance in the caribbean, it is not  an overtly sexual thing…. remember that  in the early 20th century the tango was thought to be indecent and licentous and it would not be done in polite society….

why were they deemed so offensive… well lets say none of them were what we call size 0. they were not just sexy black women, they were sexy voluptous  black women. It confounds this society. we have issues. I remember a time when Nicole richie was begining to be hailed as a style icon (ZOEBOT DAYS) she lost some weight , got more praise , lose too much weight, gained more praise,  got dangerously underweight the tide turned. seems like we cannot stand secure women.

case in point the same thing happened with victoria beckham, she had it all footballer boyfriend fame. then the tide turned and she got tinier and tinier. Somewhere there are people who think all people should be thin and as hegemonised as possible, but a sexy confident voluptous woman can really throw a spanner in the works.

Oh and just another thought, when it comes to news reporting when you have  full time mothers , why is that white women  are sacrificing themselves for their children, and why is it that black women are seen as lazy dossers who should be working.

Oh why can’t we all get along!

December 4, 2007 at 9:52 pm (Africa, black people) (, , , )

I am currently on a brilliant black history course. The course deals with  african history, no not just the slave trade, actual history. Sad to say that many books and people still believe that africa starts with elmina castle in 1481  and then “progresses” with a bunch of  pig ignorant dutch/ german/English people sailing into the south african nations in the 19th century. this ignorance is why we can’t all just get along!

It’s time that we   reclaim the mighty continent, from evil colonial misrepresentation.  There are many wonders waiting to be discovered….. however the archeologists have tendered  all currency with africa, because of their  historical anti black  bias. the great stone masonary Great Zimbabwe  built  in   the middle ages  by shona craftsmen , was denied   under ian smiths goverment it was claimed that they were the reminants of a long lost lebanese (yes lebanon to zimbabwe i can see it now!) civilisation, another story that they cooked up was it was the  lovers nest of the queen of sheba and solomon. Oh and here is the best It was part of a  ancient european civilisation lost over time. Want more examples well here is one of my faveourites, the swahilli a wonderful mixture of people, it is true they are racially mixed, however what irks me about european scholarship on the swahilli is, that any african inflence is quickly swept away. The swahilli are proud of their culture and just because they are muslim does not stop them from being african, it does not mean that they gave up all of their customs.

What really does grind my gears though is the fixation that africa’s only civilisation is ancient egypt and that wasn’t african….. I get tired with this one. I have (wait i have a new buzzword)

ancientegyptfatigue. The cry goes out from many…. Egyptians are not black…… You are prejudiced against arabs……Here we go another pan africanist loonie bin…….

yes today egyptians are not black, the arab invasions of northern africa took place a few  decades after the death of the prophet Mohammed. which i believe was   in the 600’s the invasion was in 639AD so that is  1368 years of  interracial  love and   cultral transferrance, so you could see how a population might blend  in over this time period.

I do  not hate arabs, i  know only 5  (racially) arabic people, they are fine, no beef. It is just a fact, here is the rub though because i say this and i believe this as a black person, i will get labelled a Loon.I even had a lecturer say i was viewing life though sepia tinted spectacles,  Really my mind is made up,black  people did this.

In fact we did plenty more ,  waiting for  wide public knowledge are the wonders of ancient africa

The Igbo ukwu civilisation, the wonders of Ancient ghana ( the one that is far to the north of the present state), songhai and djenne. the untranslated books  millenia old in mauritania.

Kush in sudan, the wonders of ethopia’s past

IT IS TIME TO CLAIM AFRICA FROM THE PROPAGANDA OF COLONIAL HOGWASH.

misrepresnted, abused, almost obliterated africa comes to claim it’s rightful place in the diaspora’s hearts.

I will not bend i will not bow, i will not sing kum by yah and hope that you come around gently to my way of thinking… you will be educated.

How to ruin my day, by lying through your teeth

December 2, 2007 at 10:43 pm (black people) (, )

wow, it’s been a real humdinger. 1st i get  hit by no so much as a huge lie, but a huge concealment of truth. It’s the 1st rule of childishness, i didn’t TELL a lie i just didn’t tell you the truth (yeah baby i love you too!) then  this fuss at oxford university  letting the nastiest skankiest  anus tonguing racist take the podium to talk about free  speech. Nick Griffin leader of the far right  British National Party, will probably moan and mutter that since all that immigration, and all those black and coloured coming into his fair white isle  his rights as a white man have been infringed. Can’t tell jokes about N177* anymore or P*71’s  or  qu33rs and  you  cannot get away with  intimidating them or their kids, it not right. Poor white men, only the most powerful group on the earth and we won’t let them discriminate… poor puppies!

Actually i am not irritated with Nick Griffin or the BNP it’s  the phony ethnic hangers on that get me. Where these people come from i will never know, they crawl out of the wood work and  produce soundbites.  One man was on the radio this morning claiming to be a black man, wholeheartedly declaring that the bnp is the only way that england can be saved from being swamped  by africans and asians. My, my , my. i said to my self  what can be going on here? either it is a very sad white man hiding behind  the invisibility of radio, or there really is a crazy self hating nutbag out there.

Now i am from the caribbean, there is no way on god’s green earth that anyone from that part of the world can tell me that  they have things against the whole of africa, it’s one big continent and most of us in the caribbean are virtually indistingusihable from africans. any colonial style prejudice has to be over by now.  this man ruined my day spouting nonsense. just makes me want to hit somebody.  i was wondering where do they find these people? is there some sort of depot for these people, Rent an ethnic bigot/ nutcase .com maybe, maybe they also supply raving imams  black racists and  indian effigy burners too. it is so amazing that the media always catches the craziest people and gives them airtime, not the sane and level people , i mean just look  common isn’t huge  conversely look at his competitor mr loose change  “i got shot nine times” 50c.

This world is crazy

PS   ethnic far right hangers on, i hope the bnp catch you  making love to their unspoiled white wives and they beat seven shades of the bad stuff out of you! oh and then quarter you!

Small islands= small people?

December 2, 2007 at 10:43 pm (black people, news corperations, the caribbean) ()

Well had i not been related to many of my caribbean folk, i would not have know about the devastating  earthquake that shook the region thursday. Apparently it isn’t newsworthy. the bbc has it on the web site and itv hasn’t mentioned it at all. i listen to the bbc radio 4 / world service 10.30pm to2.30 am and not once across this whole weekend had i heard it mentioned. Yes apart from one person, we have been lucky that there was not a higher casualty rate. but a 7 on the richter scale is massive. buildings have come down. that is a loss of capital ( surely something that we in the the materialistic west understand) and it will take time to get over.

Do NOT get me wrong, i know this world is severely troubled, war , destruction disease, corruption, death and crime, i do not want these things to go unreported. but it seem that these small islands and small people are not worth mentioning …. oh unless you are trying to stigmatise them as illegal immigrants or  Aids carriers or drug dealing gun totting criminals.

Here is the news world, it did not escape my attention that one american based online rag did mention something that   is pecieved of great importance, Trinidad (many hundred miles away)  was not harmed and it’s oil refinery (which exports to america amongst others) was unscathed. whoop de bloody do! well if the oil’s alright then we are ok!

This is not about  being divisive, everyone in the caribbean was touched by this tremendous tremble… spainish speaking caribbean island, french speaking caribbean island, english speaking caribbean islands, to the outside world it may not seem that much of a bother if these places slid in to the sea, but many people live there.

What we are all worried about is if this is a warning from the earth if something more is to come!
